Partnership For Policy Integrity
Driven by Data

The Partnership for Policy Integrity (PFPI) uses science, legal action, and strategic communications to promote sound energy policy.

Silverleaf Geospatial supports PFPI's research by collaborating on spatially driven projects during the design and analysis phases, as well as aspects of publication.  We primarily use ArcGIS with Spatial Analyst for data processing, since the majority of PFPI's research utilizes national 30 meter raster data.  The National Land Cover Database (NLCD), the University of Maryland's Forest Cover Change Analysis, remote sensing products like
Normalized Difference Vegetation Indices (NDVI), and the Woods Hole Research Center's National Biomass and Carbon Dataset (NBCD) have all contributed to various PFPI research projects.  Vector sources like GAP Protected Area Data (PAD-US), US Forest Service Forest Inventory and Analysis (FAI), private industry databases, and a host of other biophysical datasets have contributed to projects as well.

When working with PFPI, sound science always comes first, so research design is key.  Silverleaf provides technical feedback on analysis methods, often translating from research concepts to spatial models.

Many PFPI studies are supported by web maps.  We typically build these as light weight client-side maps using MapBox or client-side GeoJSON rendered by leaflet.js
